XIM Matrix Overview

The XIM Matrix is a multi-input adapter that allows users to combine multiple input devices and program button functions into their adaptive gaming setup. The XIM Matrix has two USB ports on either side that allow gamers to plug in two separate devices including controllers, gyro controllers, mice, and keyboards and use them together to play. This will allow users to combine inputs that aren’t typically compatible, such as the Xbox Adaptive Controller and an adaptive mouse, then use them together to play a game. In addition, the user can customize many settings in the XIM Matrix Manager Program, such as programming Smart Actions to make certain actions easier in the game. A user can assign one button in their setup to activate two buttons in the game simultaneously. For example, one button on their controller can be assigned to activate the X and A button at the same time when pressed. The user can also program a button to Toggle when pressed. If a control is set to Toggle, it will cause the control to be “held down” when it is first activated and “released” when it is activated a second time. This is beneficial for controls that must be held down in a game, such as aiming in a first-person shooter game or holding down the gas pedal in a racing game. These are just a couple examples of the many button functions that can be programmed with the XIM Matrix. Finally, the XIM Matrix has a Smart Translator precision aim system which assists with aiming in first-person shooter games. The XIM Matrix can be used to enhance a gamers current adaptive gaming setup and allow them to program actions they may not otherwise be able to perform on a standard adaptive gaming setup. See the video for an overview of the XIM Matrix.

Setting Up the XIM Matrix

The XIM Matrix can be made compatible with the Xbox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC console. It is directly compatible with the PC without any additional components. For the Xbox and PS4, an official controller needs to be plugged into the rear port of the XIM for authentication. However, if the user would like to use the Xbox Adaptive Controller on the XIM Matrix for the Xbox console, the Xbox Adaptive Controller will act as the authenticating controller. Plugging in the Xbox Adaptive Controller into the rear port of the XIM Matrix will act as both the authenticating and primary controller. On the PS5, the XIM Matrix currently connects over PS5 remote play. Using remote play will require a wired ethernet connection to a router, both to the XIM Matrix and to the PS5. If using a wired ethernet connection, there will be no lag in the activation of controls on the PS5. You can watch this video to learn how to set up the XIM Matrix on the PS5. However, not all users will have their router near their gaming set up. Another option to use the XIM Matrix on the PS5 that will avoid having to use PS5 remote play is connecting the XIM Matrix to the PS5 using the Beloader Besavior adapter. Simply plug the XIM Matrix into the Beloader Besavior and then plug the Beloader Besavior into the PS5. This is a more expensive setup, but is a an option for those without a router near their gaming set up. See the video for detailed instructions.

Programming Settings

Using the XIM Matrix, users can program multiple settings to improve their gaming setup and access certain actions in games more easily. The XIM Matrix allows users to adjust the sensitivity of their joysticks or mouse to optimize it for their specific needs. Gyro controllers can also be connected to the XIM Matrix, and gamers can use the gyro controls to move the camera and aim instead of using joystick or mouse movement. Gamers can also program many different button functions in their setup to make certain actions easier to perform in games. This includes programming buttons to toggle, assigning multiple buttons to one input, programming buttons to repeatedly press when held, and setting up multiple profiles for games. There are many additional button functions that can be programmed as well. Please stay tuned for an instructional video on how to program different settings and button functions on the XIM Matrix.
